Before founding Corporate Finance Partners Austria (former COM Partners), Berend worked as Director at the Central and Eastern European investment banking boutique EPIC, where he led corporate finance transactions in Austria and was Managing Director of Poland. Prior to this, from 1995 to 1998, he lived in Russia and was responsible for a local investment fund as well as for privatizations in Georgia. From 1993 to 1995, Berend worked on corporate finance transactions throughout Central and Eastern Europe, with a focus on Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Croatia. Berend holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Groningen and successfully completed an exchange program with UCLA’s MBA program in the United States. Berend is fluent in Dutch, English, and German and has an intermediate knowledge of Russian.
